When was the last time you shared the Gospel with someone? Maybe it has been awhile. Maybe you never have. Ever wonder why that is? As Christians, we possess the greatest news the world has ever heard? Why do we seldom share it? J. Warner Wallace tackles our fears and offers a solution:
The Source of Our Fear When it Comes to Evangelism

I think he is correct in his understanding of the comfort vs discomfort reality of evangelism. By happen chance I was reading from Luke chapter 14 this morning which instructs the reader on the true cost of discipleship. We must be willing to set aside ourself interest in order to conduct the work of the kingdom.

Is this not the reason for the difference between “In the Lord” and “Of the Lord”? Fear can be a powerful mechanism. I would fear “What” I was evangelized more than “How”.

Fear of man is a snare (Proverbs 29:25) but it can be overcome with Jehovah God’s help. Many courageous men (Elijah, Jeremiah, Peter, etc) have dealt with this fear. Jesus mentioned that his followers would be persecuted, even by members of their own family (Matthew 5:11; 10:22,34-36). But i want to be able to repeat the words of the Apostle Paul “Jehovah is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6)
Praying constantly for courage and boldness is a big help.
