  1. I had the pleasure of spending many hours with Dr. Erika Erdman, a research assistant to Dr. Sperry. Her interpretation of his work was that the immaterial part of the mind was an emerging evolutionary property. Of course, she had no genetic or biological mechanism to explain that emergence.
