Michael J. Kruger paints a picture of how Christians were viewed in ancient Rome. Celsus, the Roman author, describes how and why he viewed the early Christians as a threat to Rome. Kruger then shows the connection to our own time.
How Ancient Christians Were Viewed as Dangerous to Society

The irony of it all is that “modern” day Christians are because a “threat” to our present-day secular society. We Christians are free to gather and worship freely at present, but how long before we are unable to do so and must gather and worship in secrecy? When we Christians start being persecuted, as were Christians (particularly the Apostles) in Biblical times, we must be courageous and steadfast in our faith. Many will not endure, but as sure as I’m writing this, the days of persecution are coming.
