One of the most common objections to God in general, and Christianity in particular, is the so-called “Problem of Evil”. People who have experienced suffering don’t need a philosopher, they just need a friend. Human beings are unable to see into the future, but God is all-knowing, so He knows how something evil might serve a larger, and good purpose. On atheism, there is no objective evil, only subjective preferences. It follows that if there is objective evil, it is best explained by theism.
